- Excellent power and fuel economy, great comfort and smooth ride.
- I pod controls could be better.
I purchased a 2006 Jetta in June of 2006. Excellent car, drove great not many issues. There was a problem with the trunk latch which was fixed promptly by the dealer. Good fuel economy, just stay away from cheap gas. The 2.5 engine has plenty of power. The car was quiet and is an excellent value. I shopped the market and found the Jetta was a great buy. I have owned several VW products over the years and loved each of them. Recently I traded my 2006 for a 2008 Jetta. I have noticed that VW has addressed a few things different for the best. I highly recommend the VW products and it seems over the past 4 years they have improved the product line. I have learned that VW has great customer service and the dealer network is good. - Interior is first class, Exterior has the looks of a car $30k+, Sporty Ride
- Engine and exhaust sounds are interesting, Initial step on gas is rough
My fifth and best volkswagen the past 11 years, better then the two Passat's I had as well. Good pickup, SE is the best bang for the buck. You will not find a car at this price with as many safety & mechanical options. Consumer Reports just listed the 08 5 cyl. as improved reliability, I think that is one of the first Jetta's to get somewhat of an approval from that magazine. If you are in the market for an Accord, Camry, Sonata, Altima, Gallant, Fusion/Milan or Saturn Aura/Pontiac G6/Malibu, make sure you take a look at the Jetta before making your decision....read morehide

- execellent handle, controll, very good fit and finish, beautiful engine sound, very well equiped.
- not posible to get rain sensor/automatic lights. MAXI DOT instrument cluster avail. only for GLI's
It has a lot of low end torque, unfourtunatly to big of a gap bettween manual and automatic transmision fuel economy(about 15- 20% in avg.).The fuel economy I exeperienced is 30-33mpg on Hwy, and 19-22 city driving. The car pure and simple grows on you. Is very well balanced, easy to drive, the touch of all the controls is a pleasure including the sound and textures of switches and stalks(wiper and turn signal/cruise control). The instruments are easy to read and all the controls are very intuitive. The only thing I'd really find not good is the arround visbility, obstuctioned by very wide B and C pillars. But considering that this seems to be a problem of all our days cars..I can live/accept it....read morehide
