- Love this car!!! Nice Interior, Good pick up speed, Nice Exterior, Lots of gadgets to play with.
- IPod in the arm rest, No auto retract side for view mirrors, speakers can't handle high volume sound
I really do love this car!!! My first brand new car that I have ever bought, so not to much to compare to. Bought the SEL model mainly b/c of steering wheel controls, luv the iPod capabilities, amazing pick up speed, handles corners like a champ and I live in Europe so on those roundabouts that comes in handle, Overall extremely satisfied.
IPod in the armrest, No auto retract side for view mirrors, speakers can't handle high volume sound, doesn't come with Bluetooth option, can't shut off DRL, brake pedal and accelerator to close (bad when wearing work boots), loud wind noise when only back two windows are rolled down, IPod volume is low when inserted compared to when a cd is inserted,...read morehide

- A lot of bang for the buck! TDI gets 37.5 to 50 mpg Very dependable and safe
- Tires are supplied by VW and 200.00 each
We have owned this TDI for one year and love the car. Have had minor problems that VW has taken care of. Diesel gets great mileage. Don't think it's worth the extra money though. It's a good feeling to feel safe in a small car. I wish the seats had better lumbar and easier to adjust, but all in all the car has more small features that a lot of high end cars don't have....read morehide

- Comfortable, fast, economical in gas and super nice
- I guess I would of liked the radio controls on the wheel and better cup holders
I had a 1994 jetta, then jumped to a 1999 new jetta, then I purchased a 2006 jeep liberty and I only had it for 6 months when I realized I had to purchase the 2008 jetta. I am really happy with my car, it is nice, cute, compact, and it is a smooth ride. I would definitely recommend the car to anyone. The only bad thing is that I didn't notice the GLI until I had already purchased my car. The GLI is the best yet in jetta's....read morehide

- To many standard options to list
- None at the moment
With gas prices the way they are I am driving as carefully as possible. No fast excellerations or driving above 70 mph. I am averaging 25mpg around town and 36mpg on the highway. Amazing for a car of this weight and size. the people complaining about the bad gas mileage must be speed demons.

- Super handling in bad winter conditions, Nice finish inside out, decent 2.5L motor, great value
- Custom Bridgestone tires noisy, one wratle when music at high volume, iPod connector in glove box
A great ride one can expect from a Volks. Feels german all the way, stirdy and solid, handles really nicely in both city and highway conditions. The motor and manual transmission are well balanced. Throtle is there when you need it, and the interior makes you fell in a pricier car.
I just changed from a way fancyer and pricier european car, and I still I love my Jetta. Roomy enough for a small family of 3 that travels alot with the car.
Stereo system is powerful, but the Base is badly balanced. Low frequency speakers sound lazy, definitely not tight and a bit overwhelming. Just can not get it right easy to listen. Anyway...
Fuel consumption is ok, there is way worse in this category. Equipment level is good. Not as loaded as some american cars, but still very decent.
In sum, a car one can live with 3-4 years easy without getting bored....read morehide

- good gas milage. decent power, awsome steering
- speakers rattle when pushed. other then that amazing!!
best build quality ive seen in a car under 30k. EAsy to drive and handle. car feels great for a front wheel drive car and has a good amount of power off the line with little to no torque steer

- A lot of car for your money, enjoying the gadgets, ride, handling
- have not found any yet
Never thought I would purchase a Volkswagen, test drove one and really liked it. More things on the car than others in this size and the price competitive as well with other brands, better than some others.
If you have not driven one and are looking for this size of car, try it!!

- Rides smooth, ample pickup when needed. I love the sport-shift and one tap lane signals.
I love this car so much! I've had a Honda Accord EX-V6 fully loaded and it in no way compares to this vehicle. The car is jammed pack with features that you couldn't get anywhere else for $22500. The ipod adapter makes my love of this car so much more fulfilling!

- absolutely fantastic car.
- wish vw has xenon HL, gas mileage a little low for category of vehicle
OK so i had a 1997 Mercedes-Benz C220 that i bought used as my first car. after 180,000 miles added to the 190,00 miles it already had, the car was done. Wanted a new Mercedes, but i couldnt bring myself to paying 36,000 for a car. looked at Volkswagen and was sold. This car is a mercedes-benz minus wood trim and a three point star hood ornament. i also think that this car will also have 378,000 miles on it with very little trouble. great fit and finish...read morehide
