2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan
There are 28 user reviews for the TDI trim shown below
- Preposterous Torque, and basically all the great gadgets and amenities of a BMW at half the cost
- Rubberband sling-acceleration (pobably due to turbo kicking in) and jumpy tranny from standstill.
Purchased As New
I bought this 2010 TDI last August and it may be faster off the line than my Jaguar XK-8. So why aren't all fossil fuel engines diesel? From a mechanical engineer's standpoint, hybrids are stupid. Get mileage like a hybrid, far less repairs, far less pollution (producing a hybrid is an earth-killer) and super long-range on a tank of cheap diesel. Also, diesels engines last almost twice as long as current internal combustion types. Bottom line: I bought this car for the engine on a "Clunker" trade-in, and I would buy many other diesel makes if they offered diesel models, too. However, for this little TDI the awesome heated seats, bluetooth, compass, electrical outlets (yes, both 12v and 110v), i-pod connect, moonroof, rear seat AC, 6-speed auto w/sport shifter, giant trunk with fold down seats etc etc make this car's loaded options an incredible bargain. Service? I pray not to be disappointed, and I am unimpressed so far by past customer comments. With free 30k scheduled maintenance I may dump before 30k rather than get burned by shoddy service. Listen up VW- - I am carefully watching service reviews!
