Purchased As New
I had always thought of the Jetta as a college car, or as an economy car. I bought a new TDI in 2011, and they are now made with the body of the Passat, and it looks like a small BMW coupe. I was surprised on how nice the car looks, and the power and handling are amazing.
I was looking for a diesel as I commute 90 miles to work roundtrip, and had been burning through gas on my last car. I fill up once per week with the TDI. If I am watching my speed and staying at or near the speed limit, I can get 620 miles + on a full tank of gas. When driving at varying speeds and enjoying the Turbo, I still get 560-580 miles on a full tank. Amazing.
The speed and handling are incredible, and the turbo gets you in and out of tight spots. My only con would be that the front seat is not easy to adjust, and it lacks real good lumbar support. I was surprised not to find an adjustment for that, but I am willing to live with that. I love this car and was honestly surprised at how nice it is.
