- Quality of construction, Tipronic transmission, handling
- It's a wagon!
Purchased As New
I purchased this car as I had to get practical in my ability to assist my mother who now must use a wheelchair (Pulling the chair out of a trunk with a "dead man lift" was no longer an option for my back.). When I first saw the Sportswagen on the lot, I laughed when I saw the room that the rear of the vehicle provided. I was sold!
However, there is much more to the rig than that. The fit, finish, operation and handling, in my estimation, are of a quality that far exceeds the price. I'm a bit afraid to let Volkswagen know that, since they might raise the price. I was suspicious of the V-Tech "Leatherette", but it is far from the "vinyl" of old, and I quickly got over that.
It is a wagon, and that took some getting used to. But with a black interior and tinting the windows, I think the "sport" in Sportwagen is a bit more apparent.
