2013 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
There are 3 user reviews for the 2.0L TDI w/Sunroof & Nav trim shown below
- Fuel economy, ride, handling, cargo space, sunroof
- Lack of power seating, leather feels fake, lack of towing

I bought my 2013 Golf Wagon (Jetta SportWagon in the USA) 3 months ago. It's the tdi Highline with the DSG transmission. It wasn't until after I'd purchased it that I realized you're not allowed to tow anything with the DSG. Realizing that, I would have opted for the 6 speed manual so I could tow my ATV. Having traded in my 2009 F150 King Ranch, I thought I may be making too much of a step down, but I've come to love my VW. The build quality is excellent. All of the materials used are of a very good quality. The car has a very solid feel. That said, the seats feel more like vinyl than the advertised leather. The car handles very nicely and the brakes are very strong. The cargo area is adequate for my photography business, but lower the rear seats and there's a ton of room. Fuel mileage has been very good, but I'm told it'll improve as the engine breaks in. The transmission makes very quick and precise shifts and rev matches on the downshifts. My only wishes would be that the front seats be completely power, not just the recline; a little more substantial leather and some sort of tow ability. Perhaps an AWD option for those in the north would be a nice touch too. There's not a lot to choose from in this segment. I looked at a bunch of small SUV's before buying this car. The Mazda CX5 came closest, but it's gasoline engine is inadequate for the vehicle. If Mazda had brought their diesel to N.A., I'd probably be driving one of those....read morehide

- Fuel Economy, handling/braking, interior finish, cargo space, diesel "hum" on the highway
- seating position, seating surface, navigation system, blind spots
Purchased As New
Bought a loaded 2013 black on black TDI wagon about 2 weeks ago and have close to 1000 miles on it, mostly highway. Moved into this car from a Scion XB which was a very reliable utilitarian hauler..wanted something a bit more upscale, fun to drive, good on gas but still good cargo/utility. So far this cool little euro wagon has not disappointed. The more I drive it, the more I am growing to love and appreciate it. It's very quiet on the highway (very little wind or road noise), and a nice diesel hum and cadence. My only gripes are the leatherette (would have preferred real leather, not an option), the limited features of the navigation system, and sort of a terrible blind spot from the regular seating position..where you sit the divider between the front and back door is right next to your head, making peaking back behind you tricky. There is not a ton of room next to your right leg either. All in all very pleased so far....read morehide

- Diesel fuel economy! Fantastic Ride, wonderful features, all around excellent car!
- Wish it had more room and a larger navigation screen, few other small things

All in all, I'm so pleased I switched my car from a Subaru Forester XT to the Sportwagen. I did a ton of research and found that this was the best bang for buck. And having driven mine for the last week, I can honestly say I'm happy with my decision. The few tweeks that I'd make if I were heading up this division of VW motors:
1. If this were the Passat Wagen with larger interior and exterior dimensions it would be the perfect size. I'm having a hard time fitting the kids stroller in the car in a manner that it will allow for other things to fit like they did in my Forester.
2. The navigation system from the Passat SEL premium is a much better system and I'm not sure why they went with this smaller screen, when the navigation system in the past was the nicer 510 unit.
Other than that, the sheer fact that my gas gauge says 45.9mpg is worth the small nuisances that I stated earlier. There were several reviews that stated this is the perfect car if you're looking for a family car with the size of some SUV's and better fuel economy. I will update if my opinion changes, but as of my one week with the car I would highly recommend this to anyone who's interested!...read morehide
