Purchased As Used
Great litte German made 2005 VW Jetta wagon, which I bought used with 27k miles about 10 months ago. It has the 2.0l engine and the 5 speed manual transmission. Handling is excellent, the transmission shifts crisp and the ride is very comfortable.
The average fuel economy is 28-29 miles/gallon, which is better on the highway.
The best feature of the car is the cargo space which is much larger than that of the Toyota Matrix, PT Cruiser and even the Ford Focus wagon.
There are some very minor vibrations noticable on the floor board and clutch pedal from the engine. These get worse when the blower motor for the A/C is on max. speed. It is hardly noticable though, and I drove other Jettas that vintage that did the same thing.
I am not sure if VW puts balance shafts in this engine or not.
