- TRANSMISSION ISSUES
Purchased As New
There are known transmission issues with this car, but heaven help you if you take it to a dealership, they will claim they can't figure out what's wrong and will charge you as much as possible to diagnose and do "possible fixes". I've dropped $1500 in this car in the last two months not including standard maintenance (ie oil changes) and they still haven't fixed the problem with the trany. Not to mention that everytime you take your VW in for general maintenance they try to hit you with "Packages" of suggested maintenance that go for no less that $500 and are usually unnecessary.
