this car starts and runs, but that's about the extent of its utility. Almost ALL of the other features of the car do not work. We have had this car for ten years and it just deteriorates more and more every day. I had an old Honda Accord where EVERYTHING worked on it until the day the car died (made it 15 yrs and 240K; this beetle is 10 yrs and 119K), and this car is just annoying with how many things fail. Here's a sample:
-the cupholders are not secure and don't even hold a 12 oz soda can
-the CD changer does not work
-the AM/FM barely picks up any local FM channels (?)
-the windshield washers don't work
-the rear brakelight has popped out and is connected to the car by the wiring only
-The sunroof does not securely seal (no water gets in during rainstroms yet, however).
-the air conditioner? forget it
-the heater takes forever to heat the interior of the car. We live in CT and the heater is not strong enough to repel interior moisture from collected on the windows, so condensation collects on all of the windows which really reduces visibility
-there is only ONE key to the car. Getting copies of the key is prohibitively expensive
Overall i hate the vehicle and wish it would get hit by a meteor.
