- Good economy. Great head room. For the size of car, it performs well.
- Maintaince is a little higher, it's German
I love my car. It's a standard. Drives pretty smooth. I enjoy driving it. I have had a few problems. I have had to change the lights. But the manual that comes with the car is pretty good. So I figured it out myself. Bulbs cost $8. Take about 15min once you figure it out. (Can take alittle to figure it out.) Had an O2 sensor go out. I have had the Check engine light come on a few times. It was a none issue. It appears the sensor was tripped falsely. (I have seen this in lots of other cars.)
The car has 120K and has performed beautifully. I would describe my driving as fast and maybe kind of hard. (I have noticed it wants to drive at about 90mph for some reason and I don't have the turbo version.)
It looks very nice. I have tinted windows and all white color. Heated seats, Keyless etc.
Overal it has had some maintenance issues (the ones mentioned above) but nothing outlandish that I wouldn't put past other cars having. I would be careful of what mechanices looked at the car. I would avoid the VW dealers mechanics unless you like paying top dollar. I have found a reputable Napa place that takes good care of my car. (regular oil changes, inspections and Brakes.) VW has issued some recalls, something a reputable company would do.
I would buy one again. (Although I might go for the turbo one this time.) I purchased mine used and don't want to let go of it.
