- Very comfortable, engine output (1.8T)
I am surprised with the negative comments, I think some people must be very unlucky or make too much noise about nothing (ex: noise from lose spring in glove compartment.....) Also "some people can destroy a crowbar, put in a sand box"....
I had many different VWs including 65 Beetle, 89 Golf and lately I had the chance to test the Passat. Driving it on rainy days and also on very bad streets full of holes..... (Romania..), with 5 person inside, it showed excellent comfort and handling. Perfect braking on wet (I can imagine how it can be on dry), changing lanes was perfect, engine output was more that enough. Yes when you swift down to 2nd gear and 5000rpm there is noise and should be, how else can you feel the car ????
Perfect handling under pressure. ESP works fine (if you can drive in a way to make it work...... I am not sure how many people and where can make this happen) It is more fun without it.
Prefer the new model, as it has several improvements than this one.
If you just drive on highways on 55mph do not bother about such, you will not notice them.
