2007 Volkswagen Passat Sedan
There are 5 user reviews for the 3.6L 4Motion trim shown below
- Excellent fuel economy, Quick 4 door AWD sedan, Roomy intelligent interior
- Dash not well visualized, Very poor throttle response that is unpredictable despite software updates
Overall this car is an impressive concept, but quality is just not there yet. Bearing in stearing column went at 1200 miles. GPS not user friendly and inaccurate. Front end/powertrain noise that is intermittent. Rims break easily...my wife ran over a coke bottle and it put a 5 inch circumference hole in the rim. Directional short that is intermittent. Front seats uncomfortable, Back seats very comfortable and roomy. Overpriced oil change. Cant charge cell phone in car when ignition is off. Ok to lease, would not buy. The thing that bothers me most about this car is the unpredictable throttle response at low speeds only. This can be dangerous in addition to annoying. My jeep has a better throttle response. Throttle response at higher speeds is above average especially in sport mode. Would consider releasing if throttle response issue is fixed....read morehide

- Solid and powerful German car, all wheel drive
- Lack of a cargo net in the trunk
I bought a 4Motion for well under $30k and have loved it. It's very powerful and handles tightly, as you would expect from all-wheel drive. But it also has that German tightness that is great, the way the door closes with a solid thud, for example. The ergonomics are intelligently laid out, except for the rear headrests which are quite difficult to remove if you want more rear window visibility (or to install a baby seat). We had BMWs and Volvos previously, and in comparison the 4Motion is a superior car....read morehide

- hot looking car
My 2007 passat is beautiful. It is the 5th VW I have owned. the AWD is amazing.
I have had issues with the other VWs i have owned. But I didnt think twice signing the lease after I sat in this car.
9 days after I brought my new car home the starter went. The dealership gave me a 2004 Ford Tauras to drive....it was gross. The part took over a week to get since no starters were available in the US. Dealership didnt seem to understand why I was so mad.
Now the car squeals horribly when I brake and turn the wheel at the same time. It is annoying and embarrassing to park your car and hear that squeal. I was told that the car is too new. And that VW doesnt know how to fix it. That was 2 months ago.
I love this car, but I feel like I'm a 'glutten for punishment'. LOL...read morehide

- Handling, Luxury Features, Premium Audio, Moonroof, Style and Design interior and exterior, Engine
- Brake pedal close to Accelerator
This car is nicely laid out inside and out. It is a real pleasure to drive. The car is solidly put together.
One problem to report: one week into ownership, I started to feel hesitation and suddenly one day after lots of stop and go traffic, the car turned off on me. It has been in the dealership for 8 days now. I hope this is just a fluke and not a wider quality problem because I truly like the car....read morehide
