- Ride a little noisy/ harsh, Some cheap interior pieces.
This is easily the best car in the class when it comes to looks, interior styling, performance, and value. I paid $22,500. Nothing even comes close for that money.
The Passat is a huge improvement over other VW's I have owned. It is very roomy and performs great. The 2.0T engine has plenty of power. It is also a very quiet car on the highway. It does get a little noisy and rough over textured surfaces and does not absorb sharp bumps very well. Part of that is probably due to the 17" low profile tires. But 90% of the time it rides very well.
The Interior is beautiful and feels a lot more expensive than the price paid for the car. I have the Leatherette and its very hard to tell its not leather (my previous 3 cars all had leather). Everyone comments how nice my leather interior is. The only negative of the interior is a few trim pieces that are a bit cheap to the feel like the chrome plastic surrounding the shifter which creaks when the interior gets hot, and the sunglass holder which just feels flimsy. A couple of the A/C controls also feel a little cheap. But overall these are minor things in a wonderfule car!
