I wrote a previous review when I first bought it and it still holds true for the most part. I now have 13k miles on it and issues which are apparently shared with many other "B6" Passat owners. I've had several issues, nothing major, which required an update to the cars central computer. A stereo and sensitive/dead throttle issue have been solved after the updates. Bulletins are released but I get the feeling that unless you have the issues and complain they don't mention them because they're still not sure who has them and how to fix them. Many of us get this suspension creak (mainly over speed bumps) in cold weather during the first 15 or so minutes and then it warms up and goes away. It's loud and of course hard for them to replicate. I have had new front and rear suspension bushings replaced as this is the corporate "fix" but that doesn't work. Many have also replaced a variety of suspension components without success. Still, overall it's a great car and so much more fun to drive than it's competitors. I'm glad I chose a lease at this point and would recommend it for leasing more than buying as the lease program is pretty good. I always get a loaner when need one so I don't mind the work being done. If you can handle that and a dealer isn't too far from you (as malfunction lights do come on, just replaced an exhaust manifold flap due to one) and you really enjoy driving you will love this car. I advise the luxury package which REALLY dresses up the interior and adds much more comfort and features. If you look at them, ask to sit in a "lux" model after sitting in a base one. It's an entirely different environment and feel. I've had a few problems and could be leasing a base BMW for my loaded Passat's price, but I wouldn't feel as passionate behind it's wheel. For that I am still in love with my Passat. Hopefully I can still say that in 13k more miles. AVOID the V6 as I hear and read from forums of many engine fires. Ooops! Did I say that?
