2005 Volkswagen Passat Wagon

- Handles well with good fuel economy
- The auto is a bit "low to the ground".
I purchased the basic GL model with no additional options and find that it has everything that you would need with the exception of power seats. (You would need to pay an additional $3500 to get these, as they come with the moon roof and leather seats package.) I just miss the power seats because I had them on my previous car. The 4 cylinder is more than sufficient power even without the turbo (which it has), and the ride is smooth and secure - reminds you of a Volvo. This is a very safe, well engineered car, and one that is certainly worth the price. I considered other station wagons and mini-vans, and nothing compared to the Passat wagon. Incidently, they were all more expensive. If there was a negative, I would say that this would not be the ideal car for an overweight person. First of all, the car is low to the ground, so you need to be somewhat agile to get in and out of it. Secondly, the seats are designed for a person of average weight.
