- Great luxury features for price
- We are submitting a Lemon Law claim
We upgraded from our 2003 Passat Wagon kind of on a whim. We saw the new 2007 when we went in for an oil change and bought it on the spot. The car has luxury features that are on par with much more expensive cars and we understand why VW gets criticism from the financial press for "over-engineering" their cars. You definitely get a lot for you money.
However, we have had SO MANY problems with the car that we are submitting a Lemon Law claim. We have had problems with the brakes, airbags, idle, key eject and many rattles that the dealer cannot repair. The dealer finally threw up their arms and told us to just go to the manufacturer, so we are. We are really sad because we love the car (when it works) but we have had it in the shop an average of once a month for an average of two days per visit for every month we have owned the car, which has been only since last July.
Obviously there are a lot of nice reviews on this site and the car deserves it for the package of features that it has but we got a bad copy.
