1.8T Engine is costly:
Timing Belt Replacement - $1,100 (if not replaced it will blow engine)
Oil Changes $70.00 (if not VW specs - it will blow engine)
Oil Sludge Repair 2,100 (if owner used oil other than VW spec oil)
Engine replacement starts at $5,000.
There is a class action suite about the 1.8T for the B5 models.
