- suspension, handling, acceleration, fit & finish, driving position, makes me smile
- controls, door mechanism
After over a year and 20K miles, the rabbit still makes me smile. The sport setting on the 6sp automatic is uses gas, but downshifts well for navigating between yellow cabs on the FDR Drive or on a twisty road in Vermont. The suspension is exceptional for a car in this price range even over NYC potholes. The rabbit is holding up well so far. The negatives are 1) controls (it is too easy to bump the windshield wipers into action in the middle of a turn because the stalk is too close to the steering wheel); 2) the doors "spring" open so are easily dented. These are small gripes.
I'd buy another one, maybe a diesel.
