Side-impact airbags are a staple of modern safety standards. At awkward angles where crash structures cannot be built to compress and protect passengers, additional airbags add extra levels of protection. That makes side impacts a particularly thorny issue for cars with less-traditional cabins, like the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 004S supercar. SCG solved that problem in a unique way: They simply designed a car that could pass a 32 MPH side impact test without those additional airbags.
