Mercedes-Benz introduced a new entry-level electric crossover called the EQA to its global lineup on Wednesday. Essentially an electric GLA equivalent, the new 250-branded model sports a WLTP-rated range of 267 miles and makes 190 horsepower. At this time, the EQA has not been confirmed for the U.S. market.

Based on the GLA chassis, EQA is the second electric crossover in Mercedes' lineup, following the bigger EQC. That big range number is thanks to a low drag coefficient of 0.28, as well as specially designed wheels and "specifically adapted" front and rear wheel spoilers.

The EQA 250 sends power to the front wheels via a single asynchronous motor rated at 276 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes claims a 0-60 time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 99 mph. Usable battery space is 66.5 kWh, and charging time is 30 minutes when using a rapid-charging DC station.

Design-wise, the EQA gets new front and rear fascias to differentiate it from its ICE-powered siblings, though the overall body lines are the same. Inside, it's all GLA, save for a handful of rose gold-colored trim accents.

Mercedes says it plans to introduce more versions of the EQA with all-wheel drive, as well as a long-range version that can travel over 310 miles on a single charge.
