The full-sized Chevy Suburban SUV has actually been around for a lot longer than most people realize. Chevrolet introduced the model in the mid thirties, and it is the longest running moniker in automotive history. Often pulling in big sales, the early years of the Chevy Suburban came in the form of a what closely resembled a panel truck with rear windows and an added row of seats. By the time the 6th generation rolled around in 1967, the Suburban had rapidly evolved.

Examples like this Suburban are perfect versions that come out of the sixth-generation, a generation that saw rapid growth as popularity of recreational vehicles exploded. Only 6200 Suburbans were made in 1967, making this a pretty rare find.

This Suburban has been the subject of a high-quality frame-off nut and bolt restoration. Powering the custom Suburban is a whopping 502 cubic inch crate engine with an Edelbrock intake manifold and EPS 800 carb. It’s backed by a 700R4 automatic transmission that feeds into a Dana 44 front axle with 3.73 gears, and 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 gears. It exhales through a set of Hedman ceramic coated headers and 3-inch dual exhaust.

The current owner bought the Suburban in 2018, and is familiar with the build that was completed in 2011. It’s been featured in several magazines, and now it can be featured in your collection.
