The Sebring 24-Hour, set to be raced in mid-November, has been called off according to a statement released Tuesday by organizer Creventic.

"Ongoing uncertainty in global logistics chains has now made it impossible for Creventic to guarantee safe passage of team containers, and the equipment therein, across the Atlantic within the allotted time," reads the statement.

The Sebring 24-Hour was set to run from November 18 to November 20, and be the season finale for the 2022 24H Series presented by Hankook. Organizers plan to move the event to another venue rather than drop it from the schedule entirely.

"In an effort to avoid the unfortunate circumstances that threatened to curtail last year’s Hankook 24H Sebring, and to avoid disrupting our competitors’ preparation for the event, Creventic has thus decided to replace its 24-hour event at the Sebring International Raceway with another, world-class venue."

Organizers were forced to postpone the 24-hour Sebring race by one day in 2021 due to delays in shipping, according to Sportscar365.

"This decision was, of course, a very difficult one for us to make, given the magnitude of any endurance event, let alone a season finale," sporting coordinator Ole Dörlemann said in a statement. "It is, however, a decision we feel was absolutely correct."

The series has yet to announce a replacement venue, though judging by its reasoning we expect organizers to keep the finale in Europe rather than take it overseas.

"The health, safety and well-being of all 24H Series competitors remains our absolute priority, and the transportation assistance we provide to teams throughout the year is a program of which we are very proud," Dörlemann added. "With global logistics proving highly unpredictable at this time however, Creventic was unwilling to take, what we felt, was an unnecessary risk. We would like to thank all of our competitors for their patience.”
