Toyota unleashed its latest-generation Tundra late last year and circled back with the addition of its posh Capstone trim. Toyota looked to update its large Sequoia SUV and bring it up to date. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia follows the Tundra’s updates as it enters its third generation. The Sequoia sees new styling, a new powertrain, and the aforementioned Capstone trim level.

Under the hood is Toyota’s new I-Force Max 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, the new hybrid powertrain making 437 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. Managing all that power is a 10-speed automatic transmission that feeds either the rear wheels or the part-time four-wheel-drive system. Sequoia TRD Pro models come solely in four-wheel drive form.
