2024 Nissan Frontier Hardbody Leans on Nostalgia with Option Package
Nissan’s Frontier Hardbody comes with special 17-inch wheels, a sport bar, and decals, and starts at $42,095.
The package itself will cost $3890 and can be added to the SV Crew Cab 4x4.
Powering all ’24 Frontiers is the same 3.8-liter V6 that shoves 310 hp through a nine-speed automatic transmission. With the Hardbody, that power hits the four-wheel-drive system.
Nissan’s Hardbody is back! Well, kind of. Nissan is reviving the Hardbody nameplate as an equipment package for its latest Frontier pickups. The original Hardbody helped establish Nissan’s pickup trucks in the US in the ‘80s, which makes it the perfect addition to the modern Frontier’s options list. Building on the ‘80s nostalgia, Nissan is installing a sport bar on the Frontier’s bed, a set of Hardbody-inspired 17-inch wheels, and a decal package for the princely sum of $3890.
Diving deeper into the package, the limited-edition Hardbody’s 17-inch wheels are wrapped in all-terrain rubber. The decals join black fender flares and a black sport bar and side rails. Nissan also ditched the rear emblem but still lets the world know it’s a Nissan through a cutout in the black graphics. Unfortunately, the Frontier Hardbody doesn’t come with a front brush guard or a set of KC HiLites mounted to the sport bar.
Regardless of the package, if you’re jumping into a ’24 Frontier, you’re getting the same bones. Powering all ’24 Frontiers is a 3.8-liter V6 that shoves 310 hp through a nine-speed automatic transmission. With the Hardbody, that power hits the four-wheel-drive system, but for those who don’t need power at all four wheels, a rear-drive Frontier is available.
As mentioned above, Nissan’s $3890 Hardbody package isn’t cheap, and it’s built on top of the already spendy SV Crew Cab 4x4. The grand total base price for the Frontier Hardbody is $42,095. According to Nissan, 2024 Frontiers are on sale now. Though, it might take some time for your Hardbody-equipped Frontier to show up in your driveway.
