Yahoo Autos 2025 Audi A3 Base Price Is Up $2600, S3 Costs $1500 More
The 2025 Audi A3 starts at $39,495—up by $2600—but adds 15 pound-feet of torque and standard all-wheel drive.
The 2025 Audi S3 starts at $49,995, but the S3's turbo four-pot now makes 328 horsepower, a 22-hp boost.
The S3 also gains a drift mode thanks to the torque-vectoring system borrowed from the top-dog RS3.
Earlier this year, Audi took the covers off a refreshed A3 and S3, bringing sharper looks, a restyled dashboard, and more performance for the S3. Now Audi has announced specific details for the U.S. market versions, including pricing. For 2025, the A3 will start at $39,495, a $2600 increase, while the S3's price tag rises by $1500 to $49,995.
There are, however, some major upgrades to accompany the cost hikes. The A3 ditches front-wheel drive for standard all-wheel drive, which is accompanied by a boost of 15 pound-feet to 236 pound-feet of torque. Audi claims the added oomph shaves 0.3 second off the zero-to-60-mph time for a total of 6.0 seconds. Inside, new standard equipment includes a three-spoke leather steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a front center armrest. The S3 will once again be offered in two trims, with the base Premium model supplemented by the $42,095 Premium Plus, which costs $1600 more than the 2024 model.
The S3, meanwhile, sees some major hardware upgrades. The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four now makes 328 horsepower, up by 22 ponies over 2024, and the torque peak of 295 pound-feet is available over a wider rev range, from 2100 to 5500 rpm. The S3 also borrows the torque-split system that uses two clutch packs from the more potent RS3, allowing for a setting dedicated to drifting. There is also a new Dynamic Plus mode that sharpens the handling and engine response.
The transmission has been retuned for quicker shifts while the suspension wishbones have been revised to create more negative wheel camber, which Audi says helps steering response and lateral grip. Like the A3, the S3 offers a Premium Plus trim above the standard model at $52,395, $1000 more than 2024. There is also a top Prestige model, which carries a price of $56,195, an $800 increase over last year's S3.
