The Ford Bronco Sport is already surprisingly effective off road, but the crossover does not have quite the extreme option list available on the more conventional Bronco SUV. Ford is closing that gap next year, adding a Sasquatch option package to the mix along with a few other updates.

The Bronco Sport's Sasquatch package is available only on the car's top two trim levels, Outer Banks and Badlands. As with their non-cryptid equivalents, the Outer Banks Sasquatch and Badlands Sasquatch get a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, respectively.

Sasquatch variants get a dual-clutch rear drive unit, a locking rear differential, new rear shocks, raised ride height from new springs, and a variety of crucial off-road accessories. The rear shocks are Bilstein units with position-sensitive damping. New springs add 4/10ths of an inch of ride height and 6/10ths of an inch of travel over non-Sasquatch Badlands models.

Accessories include a skid plate, bull bar, and new front and rear bumpers with steel bash plates. The front and rear bumpers also have two recovery points each, and Ford says that they are "accessory ready" for any other add-ons a buyer might want for their mini off-roader.

While the Sasquatch package is exclusive to upscale trim levels, Ford is also offering a Black Diamond off-roading package for the more affordable Big Bend models. It does not include the new rear drive unit, but it does add the four recovery points and some steel underbody protection.

All Badlands models, including the new Sasquatch, also get a rally drive mode that holds gears longer, increases throttle response, and adds more steering feedback. The entire Bronco Sport lineup gets a new Off-Road mode too, plus one-pedal trail driving and a 360 degree camera.

Sasquatch variants of the Bronco Sport should be available in the first quarter of 2025. Ford says that it will share pricing information on those options closer to the car's debut.
