Honda has long demonstrated that it cares about making fun-to-drive vehicles, and the Civic is leading the charge in the automaker's current lineup. It offers both the rip-roaring Civic Type R hatchback and the more affordable Civic Si sedan, both of which come exclusively with a manual transmission and feature handling upgrades. But enthusiasts deserve the finer things in life, too, and the Civic Si's most recent redesign for 2022 saw a disappointing decontenting compared with its predecessor.

The good news is that the niceties are back for 2025, as Honda has added several desirable features to the list of standard equipment, including heated front seats and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. It also now has the Formula 1–inspired LED shift lights from the Type R that illuminate yellow and then red as you approach the redline, plus Google built-in and its various apps for the infotainment system.

The better news is that the 2025 Civic Si hasn't changed otherwise, offering just the same driving pleasure as it did before. Honda does say that it made some tweaks to the Si's structure for 2025, increasing rigidity and retuning the dampers to match this upgrade. We didn't notice a difference on our initial drive, but that's just fine given that the responsive steering, great body control, and firm brake pedal remain. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 summer tires, which had disappeared from the Si's options list, have also returned for 2025 and seem like a worthy $300 upgrade given their extra grip.

We also expect the 2025 Civic Si to deliver the same acceleration as before, as the turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four and one-choice-only six-speed manual transmission remain unchanged. The engine still delivers 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque as before, and the only revision to the stick shift is that the rev-matching function (which you can deactivate if you prefer to work the pedals yourself) now matches revs on a second-to-first downshift. Our long-term 2022 Civic Si got to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds when new, which is not exactly quick by today's sport-compact standards, and it bears mentioning that the new-for-2025 Civic Hybrid managed the 60-mph sprint in 6.2 seconds. So if you're choosing the Si, it's more for the driver engagement than outright drag-strip numbers.

But the Si has never really been a numbers car, and given the one number that really matters—the eminently reasonable $31,045 base price—we wouldn't really expect it to be a barn burner in terms of performance anyway. Instead, it's best to think of it as a typically economical, practical, and affordable Civic sedan with a bit of extra engagement for those of us who care about the joy of driving.
