  • Kia has announced pricing for the 2025 Niro Hybrid and PHEV, and they cost about the same as last year.

  • The Niro Hybrid starts at $28,365 (up $50), while the plug-in-hybrid model now starts at $35,865 (up $100).

  • For 2025, every Niro comes with rear seatbelt pre-tensioners, and the top PHEV trim now comes standard with the Cold Weather package.

It's not uncommon for a new car's price to rise by $1000 or more for a new model year, but Kia is taking a different approach with the 2025 Niro. The subcompact crossover, which comes with three powertrain options (hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and EV), costs almost the same as last year.

While we're still waiting for Kia to announce pricing for the electric Niro, the company has released prices for the hybrid and plug-in hybrid. The former starts at $28,365 and the latter starts at $35,865, representing increases of $50 and $100, respectively. Meanwhile, the top-spec Niro Hybrid SX Touring's base price rises by $40 to $36,675, and the PHEV equivalent starts at $42,165 (up $350).

Apart from the base LX trim, the Niro Hybrid lineup includes the mid-tier EX that starts at $31,165, the EX Touring that starts at $33,465, and the SX that starts at $34,365. All three of those trim levels only cost between $50 and $150 more compared with their counterparts from the 2024 model year.

Every hybrid Niro packs a 139-hp powertrain, whereas the plug-in model produces 180 horses. The PHEV alone offers useful electric-only driving range of about 30 miles on a full charge. For 2025, every Niro now comes with rear seatbelt pre-tensioners, and the PHEV gets the Cold Weather package as standard. The kit includes heated rear seats as well as a more efficient PTC heater.
