2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro Coupe Adds Power and Attitude
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro adds 26 hp and 37 lb-ft of torque to the standard AMG GT 63, which brings the total to 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.
This high-powered coupe shaves a half second off the GT 63’s 0-124 mph time and brings it under 11 seconds.
Mercedes says the AMG GT 63 Pro is slated to hit dealers in 2025.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 is going pro—well, it’s at least becoming Pro. The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro builds on the latest GT 63’s platform and adds some extra oomph, some extra aero, and some track-focused upgrades to make this ground-hugging coupe special and better manage the rigors of track use.
Powering the GT 63 Pro is still the same 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 as the standard AMG GT 63, but the team at Mercedes-AMG massaged 26 more hp and 37 more lb-ft of torque over the base engine.
That brings the total to 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. That’s down over 200 hp from the absurd GT 63 S E Performance’s numbers, but the Pro doesn’t have the added heft of the hybrid system. The GT 63 Pro’s power travels through a nine-speed automatic transmission into the 4Matic+ variable all-wheel-drive system.
As for what that power means, well the folks at Mercedes-AMG say it can spring to 124 mph in only 10.9 seconds, which is about a half-second quicker than the standard AMG GT 63. If you can find the space, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro will eventually run out of steam at 197 mph, which is 2 mph off the pace of the more powerful S E Performance variant.
Extra power doesn’t really help if the rest of the car can’t support it. With its track intentions in mind, the folks at Mercedes-AMG say they’ve optimized the cooling package to better manage the drivetrain temperatures and added a pair of radiators to the front of the car. The team also incorporated cooling for the front and rear differentials and the 4Matic transfer case to keep those systems happy, too.
Taking advantage of the extra power is a revised aero kit. A new front fascia features carbon-fiber air deflectors that surround larger air intakes.
Active underbody aero works with the standard AMG Aerodynamic Package’s fixed rear wing. The folks at Mercedes say that this whole package reduces nose lift by 66 pounds and adds an extra 33 pounds of downforce on the rear axle.
This whole package rides on a set of 21-inch forged aluminum wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rubber, but the track rats can swap in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Rs at no extra cost.
Sitting behind these aluminum wheels is a set of carbon-ceramic brake rotors, with the front rotors spanning 16.5 inches. Clamping down on those front rotors is a set of six-piston fixed calipers, with single-piston floating calipers providing the clamping at the rear.
If you want to add one of these GT 63 Pros to your stable, you’ll have to wait until next year. Mercedes-AMG says these are going to hit dealers sometime in 2025 but hasn’t given an exact timeline.
There’s also the question of cost. Mercedes hasn’t mentioned the price, either, but you can expect it to best the standard GT 63’s $177,050 starting price. Closing in on $190,000 shouldn’t be out of the question, either.
