2025 Subaru BRZ Series.Purple Is a Sports Car Grimace Would Drive
The 2025 Subaru BRZ adds a limited edition called the Series.Purple.
Subaru will only build 500 copies, each painted Galaxy Purple Pearl and featuring a manual transmission.
Priced at $36,615, the BRZ Series.Purple also has 18-inch wheels in satin silver and gray interior accents.
We can't say for sure whether or not Grimace knows how to drive a stick, but if he does, the new 2025 Subaru BRZ Series.Purple would be the perfect addition to his garage. Besides being the sports car equivalent of a fast-food value meal, the BRZ is purple, which matches the McDonald's character's, er, fur coat.
Now let's get serious. The BRZ Series.Purple wasn't designed to make a fictional fast-food mascot look cooler than he already is. Instead, it's a limited-production model made for die-hard Subaru fans. The company says it will only build 500 copies of the purple BRZ, which is the sixth edition in the special color series.
Every version of the special BRZ is painted Galaxy Purple Pearl, and each rides on 18-inch wheels with a new satin silver finish. It's based on the Limited trim, but it's only offered with the six-speed manual. That gearbox comes standard with a short-throw STI shifter and pairs up with the same 228-hp naturally aspirated 2.4-liter flat-four as the rest of the lineup. Along with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires and a limited-slip rear differential, the Series.Purple comes with an STI Flexible V-Bar (a.k.a. a strut-tower brace).
Inside, the BRZ has comfy and supportive front seats, which on the purple edition include gray leather bolsters and gray stitching. The exclusive stitching color also extends to the leather-wrapped steering wheel, the door cards, and the boots on the shifter and parking brake.
Subaru says the limited-production BRZ Series.Purple, which starts at $36,615, will go on sale early next year along with the rest of the 2025 lineup.
