A 500 HP Supercharged Mustang Can Still Be a Balanced Corner-Carver

From Road & Track

The last-generation Mustang was an excellent blend of straight line performance and cornering ability. The owner of this Mustang didn't think it was muscle-y enough, though, because he slapped a nice big supercharger on its V8.

From the factory, this 2012 Mustang GT made 412 horses from its 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8. That's quite a bit of power, even for a big heavy car like the Mustang. That's why adding a Paxton Novi 2000 Centrifugal-style supercharger might seems like it would throw off the balance. It now makes 500 horsepower to the wheels.

Matt Farah gets to drive this fast 'Stang through some canyons in his latest One Take, and unsurprisingly, finds it very quick. Its also got a few choice suspension mods, making it pretty competent around the twisties. Sure, it might need some stronger brake pads, but for a muscle car, it's not bad.
