Before millions of people watch “American Idol” contestant Mariah Faith on their TVs Sunday, you can watch her perform locally at a Myrtle Beach bar.

Faith will perform 9 p.m. Friday at Bar Louie at Broadway at the Beach, 1318 Celebrity Circle. The 22-year-old Conway resident will perform with Ntranze - the band that she has been performing with for a few years.

The band plays funk, Motown and a little bit of country, Faith said Thursday. The music genres lend to Faith’s voice, which is a mix of country and soul and landed her a golden ticket from the judges during her March 19 Nashville audition.

Now, she will compete during Hollywood week, which begins Sunday, for a chance to become the winner of the singing reality TV competition.

Faith and her family will have a watch party April 2 and 3 at The Boathouse in Myrtle Beach.

Here are seven things you didn’t know about Mariah Faith. One of those is that seven is her favorite number.

1. “I’m a crazy dog mom.” Faith owns a pit bull and Frenchie, whose names are Jax and Opie after the characters on “Sons of Anarchy.”

2. “I’m a nature freak.” Faith adds that she loves nature and flowers, especially wildflowers.

3. “I’m a huge family girl.” Faith spends 90% of her time with her family, which includes her mother Trina and little sister, she said. Faith was sitting Thursday on her grandparents’ porch, whose home is just around the corner from her Conway home. Faith has also shared about her stepfather, Brian Cornwell, who moved the family to Conway when she was 8, and credits him as her biggest inspiration. Cornwell passed away in 2019 from a heart attack.

4. “I love food. Food is my love language.” Foods at a backyard cookout are her favorites. But ice cream, particularly chocolate chip cookie dough, is her go-to emotional treat. And if she could only have two foods, Faith said it would be her Mimi’s chicken and dumplings and her godmom’s smoked BBQ.

5. “I love to dance.” Faith said, “Me and my mom dance in my kitchen every day.” But she admits she doesn’t think she does it well.

6. “I love to sit on my back porch and do nothing.” Faith said “It’s my favorite thing to do ever.” She said it’s a good place for a reset.

7. “I love to ride four-wheelers.” Faith also loves to go fishing, and does it often with her sister at the pond across the street from her home.
