Arkansas Trooper PITs Fleeing Stolen Mustang

You likely already have seen dashcam footage of Arkansas State Police chasing down and pitting out suspects at high speeds. It turns out the law enforcement agency is working hard to spread theses videos around in an attempt to convince the public that running from troopers is a dumb move. Yet people keep doing it, like these suspects driving a stolen 2021 Ford Mustang.

Watch an Arkansas trooper PIT out a fleeing Infiniti hard.

According to ASP, witnesses called in the black Mustang for driving recklessly on surface streets in West Memphis, almost causing a few accidents. As troopers responded, the suspects blew through one intersection at over 100 mph, putting the public in extreme danger.

As the chase progressed, the pony car ended up on a service road for the interstate. That’s when you see in the dashcam footage a trooper closes the gap, lines up, and delivers a hard PIT maneuver.

That sent the Mustang careening across the shoulder and off the road. Undeterred, the suspects bailed and ran away on foot. ASP along with West Memphis Police set up a perimeter and caught the suspects in a field not too long after.

From what troopers found after the S550 Mustang was seized, these two suspects had a reason to run, although we still don’t think it was a good one. An ASP press release disclosed that tropers searched the pony car, finding a loaded handgun, tools for stealing cars, and marijuana.

We’re going to go out on a limb here and say the taillight being out might have something to do with the Mustang being stolen, considering how new it is. Maybe not, but the likelihood is strong. They were probably using the pony car to go boost other vehicles, but apparently wanted to go joyriding as well, and that’s what caught the attention of police.
