Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, a limited-run model crafted by its bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin, to honor the 60-year partnership between the legendary British automaker and the James Bond film franchise. Introduced on October 14, 2024, in Gaydon, UK, this special edition celebrates the enduring bond that began with the DB5’s appearance in the 1964 film Goldfinger.
Limited to just 60 units worldwide, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition is a nod to the original DB5 from Goldfinger that made Aston Martin synonymous with the James Bond franchise. Like the DB5, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition is finished in the iconic Silver Birch paint, a color that immediately evokes memories of 007’s iconic escape scenes.
Adding to its allure, the exterior features 21-inch multi-spoke diamond-finished wheels, black brake calipers, bespoke gold side strakes, and a special Aston Martin emblem in silver and black enamel. A chrome ‘Q’ badge on the fender further identifies the car as a creation of Aston Martin’s personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin.
The interior of the DB12 Goldfinger Edition reflects both ultra-luxury and subtle Bond-themed details. The Sports Plus seats are finished in a fluted leather pattern reminiscent of classic James Bond suits, complete with a Prince of Wales check perforation. This same pattern extends to the door inserts, headliner, and etched tread plates.
Further elevating the experience, 18-karat gold-plated accents are used throughout the cabin, including on the drive mode dial, roller controls, and gear selector. The design of the gear selector itself draws inspiration from the golden tracking device seen in Goldfinger. For die-hard Bond fans, a playful Easter egg—the ‘eight of hearts’ card—has been embroidered onto the driver’s sun visor, referencing a key scene from the film.
Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition delivers 680PS (671 horsepower) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience. As a true Super Tourer, it features an advanced suspension system, providing the perfect balance of comfort and performance for long drives or spirited road trips.
The DB12 also debuts Aston Martin’s bespoke infotainment system, developed entirely in-house to offer a unique blend of touchscreen controls and tactile switches. An immersive Bowers & Wilkins halo audio system is included as standard, ensuring that every journey has a soundtrack worthy of a Bond film.
Each DB12 Goldfinger Edition will come with a collection of exclusive gifts. Owners will receive a Silver Birch Speedform model, a custom car cover, and a luxury key presentation box. In a unique touch, each car will also include a segment of 35mm film from the famous Furka Pass chase scene in Goldfinger, presented in a bespoke Globe-Trotter attaché case inspired by the car’s design.
Adding to the experience, owners will receive a magnum of 2007 Bollinger Champagne with four 007-branded glasses, elegantly presented in a custom Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case. These thoughtful touches underscore the attention to detail that defines the Goldfinger Edition.
The DB12 Goldfinger Edition showcases the creative potential of Q by Aston Martin, the automaker’s in-house bespoke service. Much like the “Q Branch” from the Bond films, the service allows customers to personalise their vehicles down to the smallest detail. “Q by Aston Martin allows us to create truly unique vehicles,” said Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer.
The DB12 Goldfinger Edition represents the pinnacle of Aston Martin’s next-generation sports cars, blending luxury, technology, and performance with subtle nods to its James Bond heritage. First deliveries are expected to begin in Q2 2025, offering just 60 fortunate buyers the chance to own this rare piece of automotive and cinematic history.
