Audi's middle child is naturally a mix of both the A4 and A8 worlds. Its looks are pure modern Ingolstadt with a bold "Tornado" line bisecting its profile, new Singleframe grille, optional full LED headlamps, and restyled wheels. Inside is the full barrage of Audi safety, entertainment, and convenience goodies. Making its debut is the 420-horsepower S6 performance sedan with an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The entry-level A6 is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a fuel-conserving CVT (25/33 city/highway mpg). The 211-horsepower/258 pound-feet engine also powers a new-for-2013 A6 with Quattro all-wheel drive, which gets an eight-speed automatic transmission (20/30). The same gearbox comes standard with the highest grade A6 with a 310-horsepower/325 pound-feet supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 (18/27). Although brand new in the 2012 model year, Audi has given the 2013 a few fresh goodies. Nowadays buyers will get standard start-stop and will be able to add new 20-inch wheels and layered Oak as standalone options. A "bird's eye view" camera system can be had as well. Inside, passengers will be spoiled by supple leather, standard Bose stereo, and dark brown Walnut wood. In addition to speedier performance, S6 buyers will get bigger brakes and wheels, a 0.39-inch lowered ride height with standard adaptive suspension, new bodywork, unique Estoril Blue and Prism Silver paint jobs, and diamond stitching. Overall
Pros Cons
Interior styling is best in class as is technology Front cup holder; not versatile enough and too small
Car handles great especially on corners Glove box too small; cd exchanger taking up all space
Slick front end styling, lighting Center console, and trunk doesn't fit golf clubs well
Fabulous gas mileage for a luxury sedan Storage in doors not deep enough
Audi mmi with wifi - entire family uses & loves it Navigation system needs more map information
The intelligent assisted cruise control- i can slow down automatically I wish the seat bottoms had a way to extend the cushion
Engine - tremendous power with good fuel economy Mmi system remains confusing and poorly located
The level of technology; integration of mmi/ navigation is second to none Tires - hit a curb once & hard to be replaced
Interior design & pull-out navigation monitor In stop and go traffic, tranny is sometimes a little rough
Interior and exterior fit, finish and styling. No standard keyless entry, need highest level package
