Young and fresh, the A7 has proven to be a very popular model for the Four Rings. Product planners have kept the A7's range simple: The sole variant arrives with Quattro all-wheel drive, a 310-horsepower/325 pound-feet 3.0-liter supercharged V-6, and an eight-speed automatic Tiptronic gearbox. The new model year brings about the all-new S7 high-performance edition that's powered by a 420-horsepower/406 pound-feet 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission. The recently developed eight-cylinder employs cylinder-deactivation, a new feature for the model year that shuts off four cylinders under low load to boost fuel economy. Both iterations retain the "four-door coupe's" trademark low sweeping roofline, wide, muscular stance, and sculpted nose with signature LED headlamps and Singleframe grille. The S7 wears more aggressively sculpted front end, sills, and rear, as well as unique badging, 19-inch wheels (20-inchers are options), and bigger brakes to curb excess velocity. It rides lower thanks to an adjustable air suspension and employs a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring for surer footwork in the esses. Inside its "wraparound" cabin are 12-way adjustable front seats, a wider array of leather options, richer wood inlays, and a long list of entertainment options such as Audi Connect, MMI, and Google applications. Start-stop, Audi Active Lane Assist, keyless entry, and a corner view camera function are all-new for 2013. See more... See Less
