Detroit Mercy women's basketball adds 3 more newcomers; 13 new players in total

Detroit Mercy's women's basketball team finalized its 2021-22 roster by announcing on Thursday the addition of three more players.

Monica Pruitt, a 5-foot-9 senior from Utah State, Lucia Fleta Robles, a 5-8 sophomore from Laramie County Community College in Wyoming, and Brandi Washington, a 5-11 graduate transfer from Grambling, give the Titans 13 players on their roster, none of which were on last year's team.

UDM announced in June that coach AnnMarie Gilbert left the program after players accused her of mistreatment, abuse and NCAA violations. Collins, an assistant coach LaTanya Collins was then tabbed as interim head coach.

Detroit Mercy athletic director Robert Vowels told the Free Press that Gilbert's exit was "an HR personnel matter" and that the departure was not student-athlete related or related to the NCAA violations.
