The original Karmann Ghia may not have been particularly fast, but its gorgeous design still looks fresh today. You can probably find a clean one for less than $20,000, too, making the Karmann Ghia relatively affordable as far as classics go. But if you can't justify buying the real thing, perhaps this Lego version will do.

Technically, it's not an official Lego set yet. It was created by an enthusiast and posted on Lego's Ideas site. If it gets 10,000 votes, the company will turn it into a real kit you can buy. And who wouldn't want to buy this thing?

The moment you see it, you know it's a Karmann Ghia. But the closer you look, the more details you find. For example, the roof can be removed to turn it into a convertible. And the frunk actually opens to reveal both a suitcase and a spare tire.

Out back, there's even a surprisingly realistic engine. If you want, you can even take it out of the car.

Currently, the set only has about 1400 votes, so it has a long way to go before Lego decides to build it. But if any Lego Ideas set deserves your vote, it's this one.
