Baked BMW Driver Runs From UK Cops

Everyone knows drinking and driving is a bad thing, but many like this BMW driver seem to think nothing of smoking pot, then getting behind the wheel. That might have been a factor in his 27-year-old man running from Cheshire Police in the UK recently at speeds well over twice the posted limit.

Watch a cop in a Scat Pack chase down a suspect in an Audi A4.

According to police, the chase started after an officer spotted the suspect trying to enter a bridge where a “No Entry” sign was clearly posted. Instead of pulling over and speaking with the cops, the driver decided to run.

During the chase, police were able to spike the Bimmer’s tires, two of them disintegrating to the point the tread just rolled off in one complete unit. For those who don’t know much about police chases, it looks like the wheels came off the car even though they didn't.

That left the suspect trying to push the vehicle forward on bare wheel rims. It’s difficult to get traction that way, slowing down chases like this considerably.

Unfortunately, another effect of the tires disintegrating like that is the vehicle no longer handles as well. When dealing with someone who is intoxicated, which this driver allegedly was, that can mean a crash as they still try getting away.

The BMW at one point almost slides into some cars parked on the side of the road, but the driver somehow avoids hitting them. We’ve seen these situations turn out worse. Thankfully this chase ends rather peacefully with police boxing in the Bimmer after the second tire falls apart.

Ultimately, this suspect was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for officers, drug driving, and possession of cannabis. Remember, kids: don’t toke it up and then try driving because that’s considered intoxicated in most places and for good reason.
