Watching brand-new supercars fly around the Nürburgring at lightning pace is fun and all, but sometimes it's more enjoyable to chill out and see something slow and unusual hit the Green Hell instead. That's why we're so into this onboard video of a Lada Niva attacking the course at a snail's pace.

While this lap, shot and driven by 'Ring regular Misha Charoudin, isn't even half as quick as the production record set by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS back in June, it's still wildly entertaining to watch. The sheer absurdity of bringing a Niva modified for more off-road prowess onto one of the most challenging race tracks in the world isn't lost at any point in the video, with Charoudin laughing his way through every corner.

Of course, because the Niva is so slow, Charoudin is flat-out almost the entire time, despite having to let dozens of quicker cars through. And because there's so much ground clearance, none of the curbing is off limits. In some cases, taking parts of the grass is the quickest way through.

This Niva is a ridiculous car that has no business being on the 'Ring. Yet, it somehow it seems right at home. Charoudin says he expected so much worse, despite the glacial lap time performance. We're glad.
