Bentley Flying Spur Adds a 771-HP V8 Hybrid
Bentley is set to update the Flying Spur and will add its latest V8 hybrid powertrain to the option sheet.
The V8 hybrid powertrain makes a combined 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.
This V8 hybrid powertrain made its debut in the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed.
If you thought your Flying Spur wasn’t quite quick enough, Bentley might have a solution. The company is readying an update for its Flying Spur, which will also include adding the company’s latest V8 hybrid powertrain. This HiPo hybrid is now at the top of the Flying Spur’s powertrain hierarchy as the W12 nears the end of its time on the assembly line.
By the numbers, this 4.0-liter V8 hybrid powertrain will send 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque to the rest of the driveline. Assuming this updated Flying Spur will use the same hardware as the Continental GT Speed, that means power will travel through an eight-speed automatic transmission and feed it to an all-wheel-drive system.
Responsible for feeding the 187 hp electric motor that’s sandwiched between the engine and transmission is a 25.9 kWh battery pack.
Comparing that to the current king of the Flying Spur lineup, there’s a notable bump in power. The Flying Spur’s W12 sends 626 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic and into an all-wheel-drive system. That means that the upcoming V8 hybrid will pack on 145 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque to the Flying Spur.
Alongside the extra power, Bentley promises 500 miles worth of range from this PHEV Flying Spur. That could make your luxe road trips that much smoother.
As for price, and what other updates Bentley has in store for the Flying Spur, that’s still to come. However, you can expect models with this V hybrid powertrain to sit atop the Flying Spur hierarchy and carry a similar price tag.
