Bentley is embracing its hybrid era. The British brand announced on Monday the September 10 debut of its new Flying Spur sedan, motivated by the same V-8 plug-in hybrid setup as the 2025 Continental GT.

With a bold claim that the "Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain is Bentley’s future," the super-luxury automaker touts the new Flying Spur's flexibility and efficiency. The latest Spur eschews the iconic W-12 in favor of the internal combustion/electric motor combination for up to 45 miles of all-electric range and a total range of 500 miles.

In the Continental GT, a 25.9-kWh battery works closely with the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 and a single motor, and will also be the platform for the flagship sedan's power and efficiency. Within the Volkswagen Group, which also includes the houses of Lamborghini and Porsche, this powertrain is proving to be a versatile one.

All we can tell you about the exterior, for now, is that the sport sedan has a refreshed front end. Everything else will be revealed with a star-studded video at 7:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, September 10.
