Best outfits from the 2023 WNBA draft

People tune into the draft to see what player will go to their favorite team. However, it is increasingly the case that people are tuning in to see the fashionable fits these players will sport before, during and after the draft.

The players know this and show their true personalities during the draft from hairstyle to outfits to accessories and this year’s 2023 WNBA draft did not disappoint.

From a three-piece chartreuse suit from Stanford’s Haley Jones to a long black dress with accentuated rhinestone and a draping neckline from South Carolina’s Zia Cooke, the outfits were on point.

The best outfits of the night highlighted the player’s personalities, fit their frames, and were a statement to their own personal fashion style.

This black dress was a stunner both in pictures and videos. It fit Zia like a glove and the crystal decoration matching her clutch, along with the white toes peeking from underneath the hem of the dress put this look No. 1 for me.

The metal detail on the shoes matched the metal fringe bodice underneath this dark pink suit. The makeup and hair pulled this look together and gave the aesthetic of effortlessly chic.

Haley Jones chose a three-piece suit with a peek-a-boo bralette and retro velvet shoulders. This outfit has a bit of nostalgia, but is utterly modern in its styling.

Three-piece suits are in for the basketball ladies tonight. While a crop top is a bold choice, especially with an unbuttoned suit jacket, Miller pulls this off. She goes light on the accessories and the whole look comes together.

Jordan Horston

A perfectly tailored suit is hard to beat. This checkered Louis Vuitton suit jacket with a crisp white button-up and straight-legged suit pants screams confidence. Horston stood out with this outfit and was one of the only players to wear closed-toed dress shoes on the orange carpet.

Honorable mention: Dorka Juhász

There were so many incredible outfits on the carpet that it was hard to choose just five. When I saw this little black dress I almost glanced past it, but when I saw the styling of the shoes and the way the dress accentuated Dorka’s 6-foot-5 frame, I knew it deserved an honorable mention. You can never go wrong with a little black dress and diamonds.
