Watch an insane diesel Rat Rod epitomize American freedom

Troy Gubser's pickup could be described as a worthless lump of steel encrusted in more rust than a fleet of 1980s Jaguars. Tugging at the unhinged driver's door, heaving it in a cumbersome manner as he attempts to force it back into place, it's easy to develop a wry smile at what must be one of the most rundown trucks in existence.

But then you look a little closer. You notice that the 1947 Chevy pickup has been surgically widened by 9 inches, and that it sports two exhausts protruding from behind the cabin like a pair of giant Dardanelles Guns. Then there's the 1996 Ford PowerStroke diesel lurking beneath the grime, boasting a turbo maxed out at 42 lbs. of boost.

And then Gubser hits the gas, pulling his camper to the melody of 505 screaming horsepower, leaving a plume of black exhaust smoke to mark his territory. Your tune changes, too, and you realize that you're not looking at a worthless piece of junk at all. Rather this is one sweet Rat Rod, as documented in the video below:
