The 2014 Porsche Spyder gives you 570 hp from a 4.6-liter V8 engine with a seven-speed transmission. The MSRP is about $850,000. As for efficiency, the Spyder is a gas-electric hybrid, just make sure you use premium unleaded. You can expect to go from zero to 60 in under 3 seconds. When operating at low speed, the 2014 918 runs fully on electric power.

2014 Aston Martin Vanquish

When it comes to fuel efficiency, the Aston Martin Vanquish does have miles per gallon rating, 13 to be specific. You are not purchasing this vehicle for economy. Plan to spend well over $250,000 to enjoy this ride. The Vanquish gives you a 6.0-liter, port-injected, naturally aspirated V12 engine and 565 hp at 6,750 rpm. Edmunds testing for this vehicle achieved zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.

2014 Audi RS 5

Expect to spend about $70,000 for the new Audi RS 5. For that amount, you get a vehicle with a 4.2-liter V8 providing 450 hp. The RS 5 uses a dual-clutch seven-speed automated manual transmission. EPA estimates for the 2014 model are 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Audi provides owners with a better-than-average basic warranty, 4 years or 50,000 miles.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Yes, there really is a high-performance vehicle for everyone. The MSRP for the Challenger starts at $25,195. Dodge uses the classic muscle look and gives you a 6.1-liter V8 that produce 470 hp at 6,000 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission is standard but you can choose a 5-speed automatic.

The 2014 model year actually offers a large number of high-performance cars to choose. Ford has the Shelby GT500, with a 5.4-liter V8 and 550 hp. Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan have also thrown a hat into the ring for 2014. The 2014 Ford Mustang appears to be the lowest priced of the powerhouse series. The MSRP is $22,000 and the 2014 Mustang uses a 5.0-liter V8 giving you 420 hp.
