The configurator site for Subaru's newly refreshed 2022 BRZ sports car is now live, giving prospective buyers the chance to build their own 228-hp rear-wheel-drive coupe. Options are few and far between, but the list of add-on accessories is bigger than ever before.

There are really only two options to choose from on the BRZ for 2022. A $2500 Limited trim level adds leather-trimmed upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, heated front seats, and adaptive LED headlights, while a six-speed automatic transmission can be added for $1800. That's it. There aren't any convenience or performance package to tack on. Things like LED headlights, a limited-slip differential, and a multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard.

Where Subaru plans to make the bulk of its profit on BRZ customization is the accessory section. There are no less than 44 individual add-ons to choose from, including license plate frames, valve stem caps, floor mats, shift knobs, and even a $355 auto-dimming rear-view mirror. Those who want to add a bit of flair to the exterior will be pleased to know there are a handful of STI-branded stick-on body pieces available.

Our perfect BRZ? We'd probably just option the Limited trim and World Rally Blue paint and call it a day. Keep the six-speed manual around and you have one of the most fun cars on sale today at your fingertips, all for under $32,000.
