It stands to reason that the long-adored, nicest, most dependable man in show business would own the long-adored, nicest, most dependable, truck in the off-roading scene. Of course, Tom Hanks owns a Land Cruiser. Nothing else would fit. The real news is that you can buy it from him.

The actor is auctioning his 1980 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser at Bonhams. Just don't think Hanks picked his off the rack. His FJ40 has a host of modifications, chief among them a GM L35 engine swap. The 4.3-liter V-6 is mated to a five-speed manual and made 180 hp from the factory. It's a durable powertrain and a California-legal swap.

Power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning have been added to make the FJ more livable, along with Porsche-sourced seats and a Sony stereo. A roof basket, teal paint, and chrome wheels round out the build. It'll be offered at no reserve from Bonhams, with the auction house expecting a final price between $75,000 and $125,000.
