Cadillac adds its storied Escalade into its popular performance lineup, the V-Series.
Cadillac doesn't disclose specific performance details about the upcoming Escalade V-Series, but does tease its continued V8 persence.
Cadillac plans to release the full details of this upcoming Escalade variant later this year.
Internal combustion is on the way out at Cadillac, true, but the V-Series is expanding. Joining the roster of performance-minded Cadillacs is the company’s flagship, the Escalade. The Escalade V-Series won’t get the Blackwing badge, but it does stick with its V8-power and will see some performance upgrades.
We don’t yet know what shape those performance upgrades will take. Cadillac is keeping details light until the company releases the full specs this spring. That said, the teaser video below does highlight a snarling V8 engine that presumably sits under the Escalade V-Series hood. That should soothe the lack of a Blackwing badge on the back of this Escalade, at least for the time being.

Performance-minded large SUVs and crossovers aren’t anything new, and it makes sense for Cadillac to jump into the competition. The increasing interest in SUVs and crossovers naturally would push more automakers into making performance versions of these respective models.
