Cadillac Sends the First Escalade IQ EV to Barrett-Jackson for Charity
The battery-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ is scheduled to hit dealerships before the end of 2024.
The first series-production Escalade IQ is heading to the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cadillac says 100% of the hammer price is heading toward the Detroit Children’s Fund, which is a non-profit charity aiming to help better the education of Detroit students.
Owning the first series production of any car is always a conversation starter, and Cadillac is giving someone at the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction a chance to add another to their collection.
Cadillac is rolling the first series-production example of its battery-electric Escalade IQ through the sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the hammer price heading to the Detroit Children’s Fund.
In case you forgot, the Cadillac Escalade IQ rides on the General Motors Ultium battery-electric platform. This BEV Escalade sends 750 hp and 785 lb-ft to the wheels and can drive up to 460 miles on a single charge.
Joining the driveline is the massive 55-inch screen that spans the dashboard—and the usual luxury appointments you’d expect from anything wearing the Escalade badge. You can read all about the Escalade IQ, here.
Just about anyone with enough cash will eventually be able to snag one of these Escalade IQs. However, only one of these examples will be the first to roll out of the GM Factory Zero in Hamtramck, Michigan.
Adding to the assumed provenance of owning VIN 001, there’s some other good news: The proceeds go to charity.
According to Cadillac, the hammer price of this Escalade IQ will head to the Detroit Children’s Fund. This charity looks to improve the education of students inside Detroit and helps struggling school systems.
Obviously, in order to snag this BEV Escalade, you’d have to register to bid at the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction, and then likely bring a big line of credit along with you.
Considering this Caddy is moving along to a new home in the name of charity, this could also become the most expensive Escalade IQ to make its way to public hands. The Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction kicks off in Scottsdale, Arizona, on October 10 and wraps on October 13.
