Carjacker Starts Road Rage Ramming Fight
Carjacker Starts Road Rage Ramming Fight

A passenger in a car recorded with his cell phone as a man in a Dodge Ram started a road rage fight with the driver, ramming the back of the sedan with the truck repeatedly. What the victim didn’t realize at the time was the pickup had been stolen in a violent armed carjacking earlier. It’s the kind of scary situation nobody wants to find themselves in.

Watch a fleeing Dodge Ram get wrecked by Arkansas State Police.

That footage shows the Ram hitting the back of the car over and over as the two vehicles travel down the highway. Exactly what set the suspect off wasn’t clear, but the victim does tell police in the video the car is going 100 at the time, which we’re not sure if that’s mph or kph. Either way, we’re guessing at that point the aggressor is targeting the guy for something other than his current speed.

Then the carjacker and road rager pulls out a gun, showing it to the other driver and his passenger. He continues chasing them, eventually hitting the car so hard it goes into limp mode. Thankfully, about the same time the victims were able to get the attention of a cop sitting on the side of the road, the aggressor taking off once he realizes what’s going on.

We’ve never understood why criminals do things like getting into a road rage incident, speeding, or other dumb things. Do they just feel invincible after pulling off another crime, like they think the police can’t stop them? Do they just not care if they get busted?

In this case, the suspect previously had a nice confrontation with police as he rammed more cars using a different Dodge Ram. That incident involved police shooting at the guy, who got away. These are the types of people who are road raging, hitting other people, flashing firearms, etc.

This is why we don’t recommend engaging a road rager. It’s absolutely possible for a road rage incident to be one-sided, although they often involve two or more drivers escalating things repeatedly.

If you find yourself in this type of situation, getting the attention of law enforcement on the road, calling 911, and trying to get away like these guys did are all good ideas. Still, someone might chase after you with the intention of doing harm.
